Ardrossan in 2007 is a DVD that takes the viewer on a two and a quarter hour journey through Ardrossan, Ayrshire, Scotland to see the town as it was in the year 2007. Every month from January to December, recordings were made to capture the town’s scenes for posterity. The DVD features the Clyde Marina, Harbour, Arran Ferries, Castle Hill, Ardrossan Highland Games, South Beach, North Shore, Holm Plantation, Three Towns Bypass, all rail stations, churches and schools and many other scenes. It includes the demolition of the Herald Office and surrounding buildings to make way for Asda. The pulling down of the old Stanley School and the construction of its replacement are also targeted. You can be a ‘passenger’ on car journeys through the main streets and see many buildings old and new. Every scene is captioned. The DVD was made by an amateur with a professional attitude and an affection for Ardrossan.
The DVD is region-free so should run on any DVD player.
It costs £8.10 to have the DVD sent to an address outwith Europe.
